A study conducted way back in 2003 found that 65% of today’s grade-school kids will do jobs that haven’t been invented yet. Think about it. That was nearly fifteen years ago.
To ensure education equity in our community, it is imperative that students be provided high quality options to ensure that our young people have access to programmatic opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, commonly known as STEM.
You may recall in 2014, the Endeleo Institute partnered with tech incubator Blue 1647, to train 20 of our students in web development and application design. The Chicago-based incubator, founded by CEO Emile Cambry, Jr., our very close colleague, friend and fellow Trinitarian is today successfully operating in multiple cities across the urban landscape and completely changing the narrative for black and brown people to create a new normal in technology.
We are once again teaming with Blue to offer our community a steady diet of 22nd century skills and create something never before seen on the Far South Side of Chicago. We will share more but it will be a game changer, for sure.
