Rev. Veronica M. Johnson
Executive Director
Rev. Veronica M. Johnson was appointed as the Executive Director of The Endeleo Institute in February 2025. Rev. Johnson brings extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and educational programming, along with a deep commitment to community transformation to The Endeleo Institute. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign and worked in corporate America for more than 20 years as an engineer and project manager. After answering the call to ministry in 2007, Rev. Johnson earned a Master of Divinity Degree from McCormick Theological Seminary. Rev. Johnson most recently served as the Illinois Outreach Director for Faith in Place, Co-Pastor of Hyde Park Union Church, and Senior Director of Admissions and Enrollment of McCormick Theological Seminary. A community leader and justice preacher at heart, Rev. Johnson also serves as a Commissioner of the Southeast Expanded Mental Health Services Program of Chicago (appointed by Mayor Brandon Johnson) and is the Pastor of Leadership and Innovation for The Open Church of Maryland (remotely). She is committed to human flourishing and strives, daily, for the flourishing of traditionally marginalized people and communities.

Tee Slatton
Administrative Executive
Toscnellis (Tee) Slatton serves as our Administrative Executive/Accounting Officer. In this role, she is responsible for providing accounting, clerical, and data maintenance interface for the accounting support team for accurate receivables and payables and assisting with yearly budget preparation and the annual audit. Toscnellis wears a second hat as the Grant Manager of TRIO Upward Bound. She has organized and presented at various workshops for the Endeleo Institute and Chicago Community Trust.

Carole Jacobs
Director of Education
Carole Jacobs serves as our Director of Education and Project Director of TRIO Upward Bound, one of the largest grants awarded to Endeleo Education. In 2015, she was selected to present a workshop for graduating seniors at the White House for First Lady Michelle Obama’s Beating the Odds Summit.

Robert Wordlaw
Consultant Emeritus
Robert (Bob) E. Wordlaw was appointed the Executive Director of Chicago Jobs Council (CJC) in December 1995, bringing over 25 years of experience in planning and managing economic development programs to move disadvantaged individuals into employment and self-sufficiency. As the leader of this nationally recognized workforce policy organization, Bob brokered relationships between national, state, and local advocacy groups, governmental agencies, and private foundations to advance CJC's mission of expanding employment and career advancement opportunities for people in poverty. Bob retired as the Executive Director of CJC in December of 2015. He has been a Program and Administrative consultant for the Endeleo Institute since 2020. In April of 2023, he was appointed the Interim Executive Director of the Endeleo Institute.
